May 17th, 2010Choose the World You See, and See the World You Choose
May 17th, 2010Learning is much more exciting if you can embrace the concept, put away the text books and white boards, and take a leap of faith to listen and learn from those around you who have witnessed the real culture, lived and breathed the beauty of the country and incorporate journeys, imagery and stories to set the scene! We are lucky to have in our College community a wide diverse group with many stories and interests to share, along with yummy food to really get an understanding of each country. Part of the importance of our Travel and Tourism group is to use as many different learning tools to learn about the wonders of our world, the International and National destinations that we all love, know about, or maybe not know about. Culture and diversity is a powerful art of our being, and Kim Solway is one of the best in the business! Her ongoing, active knowledge, experience and passion for travel, is a gift our students are certainly making the most of.
We look forward to the next destination….the map certainly being used wisely in this class.

A bit about me:- My name is Nikki Garrard and I am the trainer for hairdressing 2010. My career as a hairdresser began 18 years ago. I have completed many advanced courses to further my skills and stay current in an ever changing industry. My roles have included; Management roles of medium and large salons, owning my own business, sales and marketing, teaching and a passion to keep hairdressing creative and professional. My commitment is to the college and students and as my students already know I set a very high standard.
My aim is to produce excellence in knowledge and skill.
What have we been up to: This year our students are making great progress to becoming successful hairdressers. We have covered a lot of ground in term 1 and the students are confident, dedicated and excited for more. Each student shows great skill. Our class ranges in ages and this year sees us with two dedicated mums, a grandma and one male student. The dynamics of this team makes it a pleasure to work along side them. Certificate IV Hairdressing. 15 more places! Certificate IV Hairdressing.
November 5th, 2009
Advanced Careers College is delivering the Certificate IV in Hairdressing. Passionate hairdressers have enrolled, and there are still places available for you. Fantastic payment plan options. Funded programme also available.
I have placed emphasis on tailoring and delivering the training package to give our already qualified hairdressers the opportunity to be recognised and certified in the industry they thrive in. I focus on the recognition of the skills all hairdressers need to be extremely competitive and self sufficient in our ever changing industry.
As a salon owner or manager, employing a stylist with a Certificate IV in Hairdressing holds the expectation and recognition of the stylist being highly competent in working as part of a busy professional salon, co coordinating staff, clients bookings and stock control. Also being proficient in advising clients on a technical level with products and services, also having leadership qualities to support the team and initiate further training and professional development when needed.

Limited places are available for the funded programme.
